Clear track (449x800, 156KB) - 1 February 2004

Not quite so cold. Only -5 °C last night. It's good 'cos the road is clear of much ice and hence safer. We pack up and are on the road by 10 am.

I never did find the Welsh crowd. A shame but what the hell, both of us have had a great time anyway. We originally planned to get as far as Ulm but we're making such good progress (possibly because no lorries are allowed on the roads on a Sunday) that we press on harder and in fact get back into France just after nightfall. We stop in Mulhouse for a much needed shit-shower-shave at the hotel Ibis. I'm not too keen on sharing rooms but I'm tired and looking forward to getting home so who cares? Pascal's bike is now AOK and I've fixed my GPS problems.
